What we do to protect your data on Monkeys in Space, in plain words. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Read-only access

  • YouTube and TikTok give us read-only access. We can see your stats, but we can't post, edit or delete anything on your accounts. The one thing we ask YouTube to set up is a daily report job, which prepares your own numbers for us.
  • You connect on Google's or TikTok's own screens, so we never see your YouTube, Google or TikTok password.
  • You can also remove our access from Google's or TikTok's own settings, anytime.

Encrypted tokens and connections

  • The connection tokens that let us read your YouTube and TikTok stats are stored encrypted.
  • Everything between your browser and us, and between us and YouTube or TikTok, travels over HTTPS.

Disconnect or delete, anytime

  • Disconnect a platform on your account page. We revoke our access and delete that platform's data right away, and if any part of that fails, it's finished within 7 days at the latest.
  • Delete your account and your bio page and short links stop working right away. We delete your account and its data within 7 days, apart from the few records listed in section 6 of our Privacy Policy. Your old page name and link endings are held for 90 days, not linked to you, so nobody else can take over your links.
  • After we delete data, it can stay in our database provider's restore history for a short period before it's gone for good.

Bio pages and short links

  • A new bio page starts private. It goes public when you tap Go live, and you can hide it anytime.
  • Bio pages ask search engines not to list them, unless you turn that on.
  • We count visits, never who. Our code never reads or stores a visitor's IP address, and we don't use cookies to recognize visitors.
  • No ad pixels or analytics trackers on our pages, bio pages or short links.

Link and name checks

  • We automatically check the links and names you add for phishing, look-alike sites and impersonation, and may turn off ones that break our Terms.
  • See a page or link that looks wrong? Report a concern.

If something goes wrong

  • No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we'll tell you as the law requires, and in any case whenever it creates a real risk of significant harm to you, as soon as we can, with what happened and what you can do. We'll also report it to the regulators the law requires.

  • Tell us. Our security contact is in our security.txt file, and it's the address below.
  • Good-faith reports are welcome. Please don't access other people's data to prove it.
  • We don't offer a bug bounty.
